Seamus Kennedy says Nemo Rangers showed Clonmel Commercials where bar is set

When the Munster final showdown involving Nemo Rangers and Commercials was verified, instantly the notebooks were at the ready to fill columns inches with memories of the 2015 provincial decider.
Four decades ago, Michael Quinlivan goal sealed a victory to the Tipperary side, and also the Lee-siders are currently gunning to put the record straight this weekend.
But there has been a recent meeting between the sides. Between both clubs this season, there was a challenge match arranged About the August bank holiday Monday.
Given that the Cork U20s had won the All-Ireland final on the Saturday and the Rebels senior side finished their Super 8s effort Clonmel not expected Nemo to journey with their whole complement.
However, it turned out to be a wake-up telephone for Clonmel.
Something that actually opened our eyes day was Mark Cronin, who obtained an All-Ireland final on the Saturday, and Paul Kerrigan, whod played Cork the afternoon before, were both there on the Monday bank holiday, recounted Seamus Kennedy, who had been visiting from the sideline as a consequence of his continuing engagement with the Tipp hurlers…
I made that day and I had been going,Jesus, what the hell is happening here? To be honest, we believed that we went well at the time and Nemo gave us a little bit of a licking daily.
It kind of made us sit a little and move,Hold on a moment here. That is why Nemo are successful. These men are well qualified for a weekend off, however, now, they playing with Clonmel Commericals at a challenge game .
The result wasnt quite, but it probably made us wake up, sit , and be aware that this really is the degree that these men are working at the we will need to reach.
Its no real surprise to the hurler the Cork club remain in the hunt for silverware:
Absolutely not surprised that Nemo are in a Munster club final. Theyve been knocking around annually.
I believed that when we got from Tipp, that is extremely hard, we would have a great chance.
When they take into the area on Sunday Obviously, 2015 wont be far from the heads of their Clonmel determined.
Ah yeah, thats it, Kennedy awakened, when requested if that Munster triumph was that his first career highlight.
Thats number one.
That is not going to devalue anything I have been fortunate enough to triumph with Tipp or anything like that, but the few days in Clonmel after that. . .Clonmel had knocked on the door a Few days in the90s in Munster Club Finals rather than gotten over the line.
After we did, to observe the response of all of those players that played. . .it just blew us away, to tell the truth.
Obviously its the cliche, winning with the people you grew up, but that is what it is. The individuals you grew up with, your buddies and your family.
My Grandfather played with Commericals from the60s about the three-in-a-row staff and youll find a few other lads like this. There that convention of becoming involved with the golf bar that that bit extra special, and that thing.
[I remember] fulfilling my parents after the game. My brother and my grandmother, state, who goes to the Commercials matches. This was and he is not here today. To find out what it meant to that generation of Clonmel people on the pitch afterwards, tears in their eyes and everything like this, it was simply incredible really, memories that you could hold indefinitely.
However, Kennedy knows that triumph will depend on little on Sunday.
[It is ] somewhat different today, he said. We have probably six or seven lads facing into their initial Munster club final. Six I think if thats how it remains starting from the previous day. Its new to them but there really are a fantastic few of us whove had the experience which is great, the lads that are younger can draw on that.
We are really excited about it. We would have looked in the likes of Dr and Nemo Crokes and felt that with all the group of players that we had that we might be operating at that level.
But its taken us four years to return here. So we are only trying to get the most out of it, indeed, and delighted that we are back .
