An England cricket enthusiast says”racist and homophobic abuse” forced him to leave the fourth Ashes Test between England and Australia at Old Trafford.
Ed Marsh says Lancashire took to respond to his criticism.
“Even after 72 hours there wasn’t anything meaningful from the response that I received,” Marsh told BBC Sport.
A spokesperson said the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) was”hugely troubled that a spectator has felt distressed and humiliated”.
A statement included:”We are operating with Lancashire to understand what has happened and we recognise their work previously in tackling anti-social behaviour.
“It is extremely important that supporters feel able to return and report anti-social behaviour and feel safe in doing so.”
Marsh, that attended the Test in his sister, and their twenties, together along with his own parents, said a group of eight men sang a racist song about the bowler of England Jofra Archer.
In addition, he said although gamers were in precisely exactly the group around the end of abuse, lovers were subjected to sexist chants.
Marsh made his criticism via social media on Thursday, the next day of the Test.
In a statement Lancashire stated they have a”zero tolerance policy on anti-social behaviour”.
It added that”two response groups were sent to the scene but didn’t see some foul or abusive language.”
Marsh reported the band in question turned him on and his loved ones as they abandoned.
“There’s a very clear lack of policy authorities and I’m amazed in 2019 the game does not have a mechanism to report this kind of incident in a manner that doesn’t identify you to the perpetrators,” Marsh added.
“The Archer chant happened three times before I spoke to a steward on the day but being asked to spot individuals who are two metres off makes you a goal. It was scary. It could have physical and nasty.
“People discuss the atmosphere at cricket and the majority of it’s good natured but this was ongoing anti-social behaviour. If you are in a minority background, why would you move?”
The information follows two Australia fans being ejected from Old Trafford for using”foul and abusive” language towards Archer, 24, on the very first day of this Test.
In 1999the ECB commissioned a report in the game to ensure that all cricketers and people related to the match are treated with respect.
Australia secured a 185-run triumph over England at Old Trafford on Sunday to keep the Ashes.
