Formula 1 says it’s an agreement in principle with this Miami Dolphins NFL stadium’s proprietors to hold a race in the Florida city.

The proposal includes a track design looping around the Dolphins’ Hard Rock Stadium in central Miami.
Ahead of the race takes place, including approval by Miami-Dade County organisers face a set of hurdles.
There has been considerable neighborhood opposition to holding a grand prix in town.
A previous effort by F1, which featured a course in downtown Miami that went into rear and Miami Port over a bridge, has foundered following issues to business caused by the building of the race track.
The proposal that is new is all on property owned by Stephen Rosso, American soccer franchise Miami Dolphins’ owner. As such, the event resembles the Ceasar’s Palace Grand Prix which was held in a car park of this casino in vegas in 1981 and’82.
In their statement, Tom Garfinkel and F1 commercial manager Sean Bratches, the chief executive director of Hard Rock Stadium, emphasised the financial benefits.
“With an estimate annual impact of more than $400m and 35,000 room nighttime, the F1 Miami Grand Prix will be a economic juggernaut for South Florida each year,” the statement said.

Bratches was focused on Miami since the perfect spot to achieve F1’s ambitions of carrying a grand prix in what he calls”destination cities” in the US.

Liberty is determined to expand the sport in its home market, although f1 currently has one race in the USA, the United States Grand Prix at Austin, Texas, that was founded in 2012.
