Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has now accused the Scotland coaching team of being”careless” with Ryan Jack, since he picked up a knee injury on international duty.
The midfielder was shipped following his knee problem flared up and is still a doubt because of the game against Livingston on Saturday of his team.
Gerrard said:”Unfortunately he had been requested to perform an 11k session after an Old Firm [derby], which left his knee flare upward.
“Therefore we have been required to manage him, he has to have a couple of procedures since.
“He did a light session together with the physio [on Thursday] and now we are hoping to put him into coaching tomorrow.
“I think it’s just careless. You should never, ever do 11k two days after playing 90 minutes. That.
“it is a shame because he has missed the past five/six coaching sessions, thus we are going to have to assemble his fitness back .”
Gerrard demonstrated his physical fitness trainer has since been in contact with the Scottish Football Association.
“Ryan’s have a knee issue that he handles and he has done for quite a very long time,” he added.
“The SFA are aware of this, their exercise coach is mindful of that. I believe everyone in Scotland watched the Firm and saw Ryan perform 90 minutes. And then 48 hours afterwards, he did a double session.”
Even the Rangers boss also talked of his pleasure in the return of Ryan Kent to Ibrox, as the 22-year-old joined the team in a deal that could be worth up to #7.5m Deadline Day.
“We’re very pleased. I really don’t think that it’s any secret just how hard we tried and we strove for to get him .
“To get him a permanent deal and also for him to find a house – I’m delighted.
“I understand the fans and everyone in the club is thrilled too. To get him , not just for a short time, but for four years, it’s fantastic for everybody.”
