Scottish Premiership leaders claimed their lead near the top of the table however, James Forrest left Celtic Park on Sunday wondering how he didn’t dent.
The Hoops winger hit the woodwork twice and was denied occasions by Kilmarnock goalkeeper Laurentiu Branescu, maintaining him on seven goals for this season.
Following the brace and the finish of Ryan Christie of Odsonne Edouard curved off a comeback victory for Celtic, Forrest considers the quite a few chances made by the champions was a signal.
Forrest explained:”Their goalkeeper was straight up for it straight from the beginning and he left a good few saves.
“He made us work for your goals, but it is always hard against Kilmarnock, home or away.
“There are some games at the season if you have one opportunity and you score.
“Then there are ones such as yesterday I had four or five chances, but it just didn’t happen.
“But it shows you are playing well and with confidence when you are getting tons of chances. If you keep doing the correct things the goals will come.”
Celtic have won their first six league games turn their focus with Partick Thistle around Wednesday to their own Scottish League Cup quarter-final and to sit three points clear of Rangers in the peak of the desk.
Forrest added:”Since we came back in pre-season we have been to a lot of places in different competitions.
“We’re on a fantastic run and we all had a good win on Sunday.
“We are back here on Wednesday and it’s another huge game, the quarter-final of the [League] Cup, so we will need to get ready and go again.”
