Frank Lampard says Tammy Abraham would have gotten an opportunity in the Chelsea first-team this year, irrespective of the move ban of the club.
Abraham took his tally to seven goals in three matches at Wolves, which lifted him to the Premier League’s peak goalscoring charts with a hat-trick in Saturday’s win.
Lampard says expectations are not being exceeded by that the 21-year-old and thinks there is more to come in the striker.
“I never had clear expectations , only the simple fact that I believed in him and trusted him,” explained the Chelsea boss.
“I know a lot was made from the ban, providing young players possible chances, but I believed the time was appropriate for Tammy to have his chance at this bar anyway, due to the caliber he’s got.
“I’m really delighted he’s his objectives, I think there is even more to come. He. Together with his mentality I aspire to see that.”
As for the chance of England missing on Abraham should he choose to play with Nigeria, Lampard said:”That is not a matter for me. He’s put himself in the bracket for England by being goalscorer at this point.
“It’s one for Gareth [Southgate]; I’d hate to step on his feet. Nonetheless, it’s clear Tammy is going to be wanted.”
Lampard is relishing the chance of Chelsea with enjoyed lots of excellent nights and he intends to talk regarding the challenges of playing in the competition to his squad.
“It is different in its character,” said Lampard. “The principal thing which I discovered as a participant was your concentration and attention levels, during every game, must be completely spot on.
“That is not to say you can get away with things in the Premier League however, the higher level of player in the Champions League, the different style of games can occasionally surprise you.
“The trouble for this sport, Valencia are great about the counter-attack and will harm you in a single second when you believe you are controlling the sport. That focus throughout will be the primary point”
Lampard will be confronting a new supervisor in Albert Celades, who was appointed after the shock sacking of Marcelino a week as Valencia boss.
The players of valencia are known to be unhappy with the conclusion and there is talk that they won’t appear alongside Celades at the club’s press conference later on Monday.
“I am mindful of what is happening but at exactly the identical time it doesn’t influence our approach,” said Lampard.
“We’re going up against a team that has fantastic quality. What I’ll say is that my experience of minutes like this, normally it gets the group tighter.

Antonio Rudiger will miss the match after injuring his groin. He’ll have a scan on Monday.
