As England prepare to get serious in their bid to claim a Webb Ellis trophy, eddie Jones hopes to take the battle to Argentina from the scrum in Saturdays Rugby World Cup Pool C game.
England have made a start to the tournament with wins over Tonga and the USA to top the pool, but now face their first tier-one opposition in the Pumas.
They come up from an Argentina side in need of a win to keep their World Cup dreams alive having dropped about the opening weekend to France. Coached by former hooker Mario Ledesma, Argentina have tried to create their formidable scrum .
Ledesma has made fixing problems up front a World Cup priority ever since Argentina surrendered three attempts from scrums in a 28-17 loss to Ireland in Dublin but Jones is eager to carry the Pumas on in their own game.
It will be a massive test on Saturday and they havent scrummed against us yet, Jones said in Tokyo on Thursday.
We think our scrum can be a true weapon for us hold onto your seats.
The scrum of england is going to be aided by the return from injury of prop Mako Vunipola. Loosehead Vunipola had surgery after tearing his hamstring from the bone and has played only 17 minutes of rugby since, using a cameo from Ireland in which the scar tissues snapped.
England is going to be keen to avoid any aggravation of the injury on Saturday, therefore Joe Marler retains the No 1 shirt along with Vunipola going to emerge on in the next half.
Other than that will look down to bed key combinations for your effort before their final pool game and the knockout stages to come.
Maro Itoje along with George Kruis line up collectively while the back-row joins the mobility of flankers Sam Underhill along with Tom Curry.
Jones admitted back-row selection had been among the toughest decisions.
We have four quality back-rowers that are there, all competing for a place, said the Australian. Curry and Underhill, especially given the states, we believe will be helpful in terms of the competition in the breakdown.
[Lewis] Ludlam has only impressed us at the World Cup with his energy, his excitement but Mark Wilson is unfortunate not to have chosen.
