Former New England Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown has stated he will not play at the NFL again.
The free agent, that was released by the Patriots after just 1 match on Friday, is the topic of multiple investigations amid allegations of sexual attack and sending text messages that are intimidating.
“Will not be playing at the @NFL anymore those owners can cancel deals do whatever they need at anytime,” said Brown, who was also published by the Oakland Raiders earlier this month.
Brown, 31, is expected to be paid $5m (#4m) of the $9m (Number 7.3m) Patriots signing bonus on Monday, however NFL.com reports the franchise is unlikely to pay up.
In the same way, the Raiders reportedly voided the almost $30m (Number 24m) guaranteed in Brown’s contract after fining him for misconduct and releasing him on the eve of the new season.
Though Brown is now a free agent and aren’t suspended from the NFL, the league has stated which were a group to sign him and”depending on the condition of the evaluation”, he might be blocked by playing being put on the commissioner’s exempt list.
Based on ESPN, the expectation is no group will take a chance on signing him before the evaluation of the league is concluded.
Brown was accused of rape by his personal trainer earlier that month, an accusation he denies.
Britney Taylor, who made a decision to forgo anonymity, said she was sexually attacked by Brown according to a civil lawsuit she filed.
On Thursday, American magazine Sports Illustrated reported that a female artist who had previously accused Brown of unwanted sexual advances – again denied by Brown – contacted the NFL to claim he’d delivered her”intimidating and threatening” texts.
Brown signed a one-piece bargain with the Patriots on 7 September value a reported #12.2m ($15m). Last Sunday, he also scored a touchdown against the Miami Dolphins in his look for them.
Prior to connecting the Patriots, he had been published by the Oakland Raiders hours.
He departed having never played a match for the franchise and was fined the prior day after a confrontation with Raiders general manager Mike Mayock.
He became one of the NFL’s highest-paid broad receivers when he joined Oakland from the Pittsburgh Steelers in March, signing a tenth price worth greater than $50m (#41m) per season.
Since being drafted by the Steelers having listed over 1,000 receiving yards in the league in each of the past six seasons and seven of the nine years, brown has been one of the league’s top receivers.
He has also reached double figures for touchdowns on four occasions and has livelihood regular-season levels of 841 grabs for 75 touchdowns and 11,263 yards.
