Three-time Solheim Cup captain Juli Inkster opened a two-shot lead Going into the Last round of the Old LPGA Championship at Indiana.
The LPGA Tour winner was four over after nine holes of her opening but has battled back on the leaderboard after 36 holes at The Pete Dye Course at French Lick.
Inkster submitted a 69 to get to three under, with 2017 champion Trish Johnson portion of a three-way tie for second alongside Jean Bartholomew along with American duo Moira Dunn-Bohls.
“I actually drove the ball really well today, so I received plenty of wedges in,” Inkster said. “I kind of struggled with my distance control but it’s hard with the end.
“I didn’t get it quite close, but I had a lot of chances out there. A couple bad bogeys with wedges in my hand, but complete, I thought I’d played well”
Inkster started the day three strokes back with three bogeys on her way to moving into top spot, as McGill slipped down the leaderboard with a second-round 79.
Dunn-Bohls held a share of benefit whereas Johnson and Bartholomew equally birdied the continue to sign up for rounds of 71 and 70.
Helen Alfredsson and Rosie Jones share fifth spot, while defending winner Dame Laura Davies establishes six strokes off the pace and at a tie for ninth that includes Wales’ Becky Morgan.
