Harry Maguire did not play like he misses Leicester much, says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said Harry Maguire didn’t look as though he missed Leicester City much following his Manchester United defence left a blank sheet in Old Trafford against his former side.
The early penalty of marcus Rashford gave a success to United putting in an impressive operation alongside Victor Lindelof following his #80m movement from Leicester in the summer made him the world’s most expensive defender.
Many had tipped Leicester to pickup things in Old Trafford, and Solskjaer was thrilled with the camaraderie as they go into a busy and difficult period his negative revealed, though United weren’t at their complete potential that was attacking.
Solskjaer told Sky Sports:”It didn’t seem like he missed them ! He stuck his head in did quite well, and was so composed on the ball, and that we had in the second half.
Then he said in his post-match press conference:”Maguire was exceptional now, Jamie Vardy was kept pretty quiet, and it’s not often you can say . Along Lindelof, both performed very well with. Even the full-backs did a good job.
“I thought they did great, read the game well. I’ve got plenty of admiration he’s my type of centre-forward, harassing and running in-behind, and also you have got to be put on with your own decision making. I feel the two of them demonstrated their value. There were a couple of races and Harry did well.”
Asked about the jeers coming out of the vocal flying fans every time Maguire touched on the ball,” Solskjaer said:”I don’t think that disturbs him at all. You have got to be that way, and that’s when you play, when you perform when you mentor, when you manage. We don’t get too much when we triumph, and we don’t get too from the dumps when you lose.”
Following what had been an indifferent start to the campaign together with five points in four games, united come back leapfrogging Leicester.
Though Solskjaer recognises United did not play he’s thrilled to have stood company as Leicester pressed for intervals in both halves.
“Let us not kid ourselves, we did not play a excellent match,” he told Sky Sports. “The initial 25 mins were all fantastic, but we slowly lost control. We all had been in control.
“Today was probably the first time this year, apart from charms against Chelsea, in which we have had to defend as a group for longer periods, so the blank sheet is pleasing. The first 20 minutes was simply fantastic if you’re a neutral to see.
“I thought we defended . Of course we wish to play with this, have the ball and control, but occasionally you play with a team that provides you troubles, and I think we rode the game out well.”
Seeing Soccer Saturday, Matt Le Tissier praised the functionality of Harry Maguire for Manchester United, also stated Leicester lacked a sting.
For all their possession, maintaining United composed in their own half, there was not that opportunity for Leicester.
It was an important win now, and not merely because of the fixtures that are forthcoming, but since everyone gave a chance to Leicester. It wasn’t a victory, but United ground out it. They showed a character to see out the result.
