Ante-post favourite Advertise and his older rival Six Sovereigns both will miss the Betfair Sprint Cup at Haydock on Saturday.
Before the tables emphatically turned at Newmarket, martyn Meade’s Advertise beat Ten Sovereigns into place when landing the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot in June.
Ten Sovereigns has since disappointed in York from the Nunthorpe, a month, whereas Advertise claimed his third greatest success in Deauville.
The pair were put for another clash in the Merseyside track, but neither will be presence – by Advertise morning, later returning a cluttered extent on Friday officially withdrawn.
Meade stated:”Advertise returned a bad extent this afternoon and we had no choice except to draw him.
“It is not serious and that he ought to be fine in a week, but we can’t take any chances”
Advertise is now likely to go to the Qipco British Champions Sprint in Ascot on October 19.
“I’d imagine that will be the plan now,” Meade added.
“It is disappointing he can not run at Haydock, however there is nothing we could do about it that’s horses to you.”
O’Brien shown earlier this week if earth prevailed that Ten Sovereigns wouldn’t line up in Haydock and the Ballydoyle handler supported his non-participation.
The No Nay Never colt is currently set to be ready to Australia later in the year.
“We did not want to run him on soft ground. We had been hoping it wouldn’t be, however they got much more rain there today,” explained O’Brien.
“He’ll likely go into quarantine today for Australia.”
