Fantastic Britain will compete in the inaugural ATP Cup of January after Andy Murray’s late decision to enter.
Britain might not have qualified for the event had Murray not entered beneath his shielded world rank of two.
Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer will also be in the field for the tournament, which is performed across three Australian cities.
The draw takes place at the Sydney Opera House on Monday.
Three-time Grand Slam champion Murray stated in January that after fighting to recover from hip surgery he planned to retire after this year’s Wimbledon.
The Scot went on to come back to the courtroom in the time to attribute at Wimbledon, in which he and Serena Williams eventually played doubles.
Murray missed out on returning to the US Open, opting to play in the Winston-Salem Open instead, where he dropped to Tennys Sandgren from the very first round.
The ATP Cup, that carries 750 ranking points, is distinct from the Davis Cup but could amalgamate with that tournament after it is revamped, in accordance with International Tennis Federation president David Haggerty.
